Hey guys, first post ever.

Anyways, I don't know much about cars, just got into them recently. I am a fan of american muscle cars - just cause of the classic looks and speed. That's probably all I know of cars. Horsepower and torque.

Well, the car I want most - 'cause of looks, would be a convertible 1972 Corvette Stingray. There's not much to say about why I want it, I just think it really looks nice. The only thing else I know about it is that it originally doesn't have much hp due to some law restricting the hp or something similar to that. The one I'm looking at is a restored one but has it's "ORIGINAL number's matching 350ci/200hp engine". Not much hp, but still good.

Anyways, since I'm new to everything. Is there anything I should know about that particular model of the Corvette, like pro's or con's?

Any help, no matter how repeatetive or trivial, will help.

Since it's my dream car, I probably won't be getting one for a long while. So there's much time to discuss and learn everything I need to know.

I don't know much about them but they are indeed beautiful. A neighbor of mine had one (not convertible though) that sat in his driveway for years and years.... one day it just mysteriously disappeared. It was like a landmark, you can even see it on google earth!

Really?

Anyways, if it were to come with it's original engine and everything, would it be a crime to modify/replace it?
Also, is AC needed for a convertible? I've never owned one, or ridden in one long enough to determine whether or not one would need it. I mean, there will be days when it's blazing hot and also those days when it's freezing.
Just asking, 'cause I think I found a pretty nice car, but it lacks AC.

Either way, I'm still far off from buying it.

EDIT:
I don't wanna show the exact link - but I'm sure you can find it anyways, but
is $30,000 good for the following?
1972 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible
original Bill of Sale
Roughly 10,000 miles "since it has been restored"
Original 350ci/200hp engine
AM/FM Stereo
Automatic Trans
Power Brakes
Power Steering
Interior/Exterior are great

Since it's from a dealer, how much/do you think I can haggle off?
