EY GUYS SO MY TALON AHS BEEN RUNNING GOOD KNOCK ON WOOD SINCE THE WATER PUMP IDEAL...WELL EXCEPT SOMETIMES WHEN I START IT IT TURNS OFF CUZ IT IDLES TOO LOW....1000 RPM...HOW DO I GET IT TO IDLE HIGHER I AM LOOKING FOR 1500 RPM POSSIBLY???

sure your tachometer is reading correctly? 1000rpm is a bit high, actually.
correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't the idle speed supposed to be around 750-800 rpm?
my car idles at about 735-745 rpm, and i know the tach is reading correctly.

do you have a Haynes manual? it has those figures in there.

no, the problem is something else... what's the condition of your ignition components? checked for vacuum leaks?

vacumn hoses are fine...but is it because our vehicles are diffrent that we have diffrent idle speeds??? i think dad does somewhere have one of those manuels..well it sometimes does it..i know it acts weird when liek i am stopped and have the heat running also..it acts like it wants to cut off...but yea like if it get to 500 rpm it will turn off i do know that
