I own a 1986 Buick Elecrta (baby blue), but I just got it and know nothing about Buicks (or that much about cars). I got it from an elderly man and he hasn't driven it in about 6 years so its been sitting outside and rusting for sometime. There has been alot wrong with it so far, but I was wondering if anyone had tips on how to fix some of these problems:
-sagging interior roof
-scrachy sterio speakers
-Power windows don't work (except for 2)
-Power seat Doesn't work
-Power Steering goes out when turning sometimes
-Engine mounts are coming lose and the engine jumps up when i accelerate, and puts alot of stain on the transmission (most important)
-Low power/performance coming from the engine
thanks

for roof, i had this problem, i took all trim that holds the sealing off, took the whole seiling pan out, riped off old cloth, preped the surfice, bought thin carpet from auto parts store, comes in a rool, used 2 rolls, using 3m spray glue, glued carpet to the pan, and put it back in to the car. i looks better than original, did a few of my friends cars like that,
speakers you'll just have to change.
windows it might be switches, check them, these old gm switches have to click to work, if you press them and they click than it's the window regulator,(even if switch on the door works and window doesn't, you need a driver side switch block work, without it none of individual swtches will operate the window), the regulator, you need to take panel off, drill out rivets, put in the whole new assembly, with motors, and swing arms. it's hard job, if you can't better take it to the shop, if you didn't do it before.
as for seat, they usually last long(motors), check fuses, if there is power to the powerseat (check the seat plug with test light), get a new one from junkyard.
steering, check fluid level, hoses, the belt(belt you want to change, it's single belt, for 6 years sitting, it's probably cracked, and will go soon)
mounts you have to change, all of them.
engine, do tune up first,(sparkplugs, wires, airfilter, fuelfilter, pcv valve,) clean trottile body, and idler bypass canal.
most of this work reguires right skills, and tools, since you said you don't know about cars much, take it to a shop, and hope they are good mechaniks and wont, brake something while fixing.
