I am looking into buying my first car. I just wanted to ask a few questions about the car. I am not rich and i cant afford to pay pricey repair bills. I am one who will rotate my own tires, and put on new brakes pads and things like that but i know with these cars doing repairs and upkeep myself can be a challenge since everything is so cramed. So doing the oil, brakes and tires is about as far as i can see myself fixing. My question is how reliable are these cars.

I was all set on one but i have been looking at average repair costs for these cars compared to say the 98-01 models and they are like triple or quadrupled the price of the 98-01 A4's. I am in High school right now, a junior and i will be a senior by the time i have enough money(probably around January) and i want a car that will last me through college without large repair bills.

personally, i wouldn't think an audi would be a good car for someone with a modest amount of cash. if you were to buy one, plan on having a few thousand set aside.

i could be wrong, but in previous years haven't they had problems with their transmissions?

just mantaining the vehicle is going to cost more than the average domestic or japanese

Civic.

I know you hate the answer, but it is your best bet.

That Audi has dam sensors EVERYWHERE, and none are plug and play.

Be prepared to pay a lot for service since most 2002s are out of warranty.
