The problem is: I accidentally swapped the voltage regulator leads on the alternator while replacing. When I started the car, the car ran for a second then cut off. I think I heard a snap and a bit of a electrical burn smell from the engine compartment. Since, I have swapped the alternator leads to the correct position, but now when I turn the ignition on, the lights work, the heater works, the door open/key in ignition buzzer works, the dome light and dash board lights work, but this is all. When I try and start, nothing at all happens... no clicking, no nothing. I am stumped! What do you think it is? Looking at the wire diagram, I see an orange 20 guage fusible link running to the ignition system... could this be it? If so, how do I check continuity?

I figured it out!!! So proud of myself. It was the orange wire located exactly where the manual stated.... thanks for you help. Now, I have another problem... I will start a new thread.
