My dear old volvo is ticking over rather slow. Fuel pump, battery and alternator are OK, but just cuts out when idling in queus. Easy to re start, but a nhgtmare to relay on when one pulls away at a busy roundabout. How can I turn up the revs??

Are you having problems with your engine temperature? Its also a cause of improper idling. try checking your Volvo radiator (http://www.overnightradiator.com/volvo-radiator.html) if it has signs of leaks. and also your water pump, maybe its not pumping right thats why engine cooling is not normal

well once we get spam boy taken care of here....
even though youre talking in a different dialect than i am used to, i think i get whats happening.
best way to start would bge to do a fuel injector/throttle body cleaning service on it. but it sounds fuel related
