Thanks in advance!

We put an innovative 60-1 turbo on the 4.3. Talk to Revolution, he is the 4.3L turbo guru around here.

If you search for a member here with the username Sy-clone, you'll see a whole thread about turbocharging his sonoma.

No one sells a bolt on turbo kit for the 4.3L anymore..... the only company that used to make a kid was Mach Performance in Michigan, and they no longer sell it.
Revolution is still making turbo headers for the 4.3 and can point you in the right direction. You will also need fuel upgrades and an ECU reflash.
Good luck with it

What about if I dropped a V8 in there, maybe a 350?

Then you might not need a turbo..

An LS1 Swap would be a much easier ordeal IMO

Why would it be easier? I'm also going for the most cost effective route here.

Honestly you would be better off picking up a turn key 5.3 engine with a tranny and harness throw it in with a mild cam and some good tuning for under 5 k you would have really reliable and pretty darn fast little truck.

sounds easier then mounting a turbo.

From what I see those are pretty costly, so I'm gonna go checkout a few local junkyards to see if they have any good 350's lyin around.

Junkyrad pull will need a rebuild 9 times out out of 10..Just to let you know..If you have the cash I would look at crate engines just to save the time of rebuilding a 350. But rebuild will most likely be cheaper. Summit and Jegs and PAW will be your new best friends. Doing the V-8 swap is alot of fun and with the kit almost all bolt in. Have fun..
