The new GT500 comes out in 4-6months and I'm seriously thinking about getting one. Here is the plan sell my rumble bee that I have which has 7+ thousand in modd's for have been offered recently 28,000 for it. And buy a the GT500 when it comes out. But that means I no longer have my hemi. Then I found a 03 Hemi Ram selling for 15k. I would buy it add some bolt-on's so it will do 0-60 in about 6flat maybe lower. That would leave me with 10k for GT500 what do you think of my master plan. Unless I find a R34 skyline I want.

well it depends on alot. can you handle the insurance on two cars? do you need 2 vehicles that bad? how fast do you really wanna go? if all you care about is going faasssstt, then stop trying to carry around an extra 800 lbs and dump the truck and get into a lighter vehicle ie the gt500 and go mod crazy.

have you thought about needing a truck or a dialy driver? the GT500 isnt gonna be the best car for the winter or rain. i know i dont take my gto out in the rain or snow, and the GT500 isnt gonna be any better.

if all you care about is street trim applications on not so much about being a drag fast car, i would keep your hemi. you have got a good thing going on there. hell, you can make it a goal of yours to make your hemi faster than a gt500. seems like you are pretty close as is. put that extra money that you would have lost on depreciation and mark up for the new car into your current truck, and i would imagine that would give you a shit eating grin.

my 2 cents

Thats a good argument. I don't mean to brag but I don't need to worry about money issues for the most part. And I could beat a GT500 if I ran 100-150shot of nitrous in the race. I would just have the new truck for a daily driver and the GT for a late night import killer and a weekend track warrior. Just thinking of some bolt-on's to add 80-100HP with alittle bottle of nitrous to put all evo's in there place. IN the REAR view MIRROR.

if money isnt an issue why dont you just keep the rumble bee and get the gt500 out right?

oh, and if you need a reliable daily driver, you could easily just part out some mods on your hemi and sell them for a quick buck.

Well I could do that but I would be poor for a few months. Fillin both those cars with 93octane gas twice a week would hurt.

i wouldnt recommend keeping the hemi and getting a gt500 then if you are worried about gas prices. if gas prices are going to affect your finicial means, then i would suggest either keeping your very nice hemi (IMO, and i usually am not a hemi fan at all, but with that kind of power to the ground, i can respect that) or getting the GT500 , and buying some sort of beater/econo car as your daily driver and not another hemi. thats just me though

It would hurt me for a month or 2 because 1. Gas prices affect meet little but after spending 45k they will for alittle bit also because I give the biggest down payment possible when I buy a car usually half the MSRP. But thinking of different ideas because I want to keep my truck and get the GT hard decsion.

a car is never worth straining yourself. you should just wait a little bit, save up some more money, and when the time and price is right, get yourself that gt500 and keep the hemi. by then i would imagine you could find some practically new gt500s that have been traded in after a thousand miles or so from the people that buy cars on impluse, and then cant afford them a couple months later and have to trade them in. you can take advantage or their losses.

I have had no complants from girls in my truck going 125mph beating little honda civics. Have beatin 32 civics so far. And I can beat an 05 Mustang GT without nitrous and the truck is fun in the winter in the snow. :woot:
