Hi,
I have and 89 Trooper II that has 167K on it. It runs fine for the most part. lately it has been acting a bit funny. When it is running and I have the heater fan on the RPM at idle start to go up and down around 900 to 1500 rpm. It will stop and go back to 900 rpms if I turn the heater fan off. Also every once and a wile when I start it after it has been warmed up it will idle really low. I replaced the plugs, plugs wires, cap, and rotor and it still acts the same.
any info you can give would be great.
Thanks, Nick

Sounds like your idle air controller is malfunctioning.

or heater puts varuable load on alt. check heater relay-resistor, it might be the problem.
