I need help, dealership cannot figure this out. When i go to start the car it acts like the battery is dead. It is not though it has 12 volts, all my lights work, everything except it does not start. If you put jumper cables on and rev the motor of the the running vehicle it will start. Dealership has replaced starter, which i am not paying for, it still does not work. It does not matter if the vehicle is hot or cold. Please help!

No the engine does not do anything. It acts as if the battery is dead.

I would be suspicious of the ign. switch or starter relay I have a 91 passat and i've replaced the ign sw sounds like the same symptoms...a good vw dealer should have no trouble diagnosing this problem! :)
