have a 91 metro I had a hard time for couple of days to open it from out side ,now it wont open from either inside or out side ,my friend is working on it ,and he says I need the door latch, I can,t ,afford the guess work,,my question is ,is this a common problem? and where would be the best place to buy one,I deliver pizza with it ,and I don,t mind buying new one if it is not so Expensive,it cost me a lot more driving my big V8 car while I,m waiting,since I only get 10 mile per gal vs my GEO which give me 34 MPG!! and no nothing is disconnected in side,that,s the first thing we checked,

you can try eBay motors or doing a Google search to find a new latch.
