I wouldn't worry too much about rear disc brakes, as they don't apply as much braking force compared to the fronts.
IMO, you would be better off upgrading the front calipers and discs to the ones fitted to the 306 GTI6 ... they are 280mm and are a simple bolt-on fitment. You need the yokes (part that holds the caliper) calipers, discs, and pads. If you can't get them you can get 266 mm ones of a 206 GTI or 306 xsi/S16.
Bear in mind you have to have 15" wheels for the 280mm setup.
If you really want to upgrade to discs in the back, that's fine as well :)
Yes, the 106GTi has rear disks; you will need the whole rear beam off that car.
upgrade to discbrakes on a 106xsi is a total waste of money... It only looks good. infact you can't tell the difference from the drum breaks and disc breaks. If I where you i'd put my money on the frontbrakes and by the 306xsi front kit, with standars discs and some good brakepads.
(if you have to much brakes in the back of the 106 you will look up in the back and the car will turn 180degrees...becouse there is no weigth in the back. hope you believe me on this becouse we use the 106/saxo/clio much in motorsports over her in Norway. junior classes in the rallies and in autoslalom.

yeah stick with drums and upgrade ur fronts, 75% of braking goes to front brakes so that would be ur best bet like 57th alchemist said :)
