hello i have this 1992 gmc sonoma and my oil pressure gauge and my temp. gauge both dont work. the oil pressure sits on the highest mark on the gaue and nevers moves wether or not the vehicle is running. and the temp. gauge allways sits on 0 and never moves. someone was telling me that i might need to replace a temp. sensor or a sender he mentioned theres was a difference between the two. and one more question does anyone know if a 1992 gmc sonoma 2.5l has a pcv valve? autozone told me they did but i cant find it i looked on the valve cover and everyhwere but i cant locate it.
thanks in advanced.

i think you need to replace the oil pressure sender, or "oil pressure switch", as it may be called.

yes, your engine should have a pcv valve. http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductList.aspx?PartType=5&PTSet=A&SearchFor=PCV%20Valve

however, i've heard some people with sonomas claim that their engine doesn't have a pcv valve; this including the year 2000 models:dunno:

The Coolant temp sender I belive is in the thermostat housing should be a brass or faded brass sender with a plastic plug and a single wire going to it.

The Oil pressure sender is on the lower side of the block mounted above the oil filter its about the size of a half dollar around and threaded into the block.

And I belive the PCV is part of the valve cover on those trucks. I think its a plastic valve. Its been a long time but look at any of the lines going from the air cleaner to the valve cover or any lines going to the side of the head. Should be a rubber line low pressure.
