I have a 2001 Chevrolet impala and when I bought it the dealer did not know if it had keyless entry or not.The car does have an alarm in it because there is a little red light that flashes on the radio. If it does have keyless entry I would like to buy a remote for it but I don't want to waste the money on a remote if it doesn't have keyless entry.Does anyone know how I can find out if it has keyless entry and the previous owner just lost the remotes and didn't tell the dealer. Thanks

you can tell by the VIN... Call a bigger chevy dealer and give the VIN number... They will say yes or no... If yes hit up ebay, the key fobs are under 20$ shipped and have programming directions with them...

that light on the radio has nothing to do with keyless entry, or alarm, it's rado theftlock, make sure you have a code for it before disconecting a battery.

You program the car for the remotes and not the remotes for the car.

It shouldn't be that difficult to find someone with a remote on a working car, if you get the instructions you can see if it'll work on your car.

I have an older W-body.

There's a module near the rear antenna.

Just open the trunk and peel away the carpety crap on the side and if there's this blob on a wire, that's you're hook-up.

If you really want I can get a pic of mine.
