I have a 99 Buick Regal that has a bad squeak in the AC/Heater blower. Does anyone know how to access the fan? I want to get in there and give it a good shot of lubricant. Thanks

it will be a sealed unit. You'll have to replace it.

This summer while on vacation, I had a drain plugged up in my air conditioning system and it overflowed with condensate water flooding my wife's feet. We cleaned the drain and solved that problem. But in about a month the rust set in and caused a squealling in the blower fan motor. I was able to fix it (at least temporarily) by pulling the fan blower motor out. There are three small screws mounting the fan and one electrical plug. The fan is located above the passengers feet and is VERY accessible. Once the fan is out turn it upside down and let it rest on the blower squirrel cage. Then you can notice the end of the shaft in the lower portion of the motor. This shaft is going through a small brass bushing and this is where the rust is and a little penetrating oil needs to be squirted as you spin the fan case around. Be careful and don't flood it, after all it is an electrical part. I even took off the rubber drain house off the housing and was able to see the upper bearing area and very carefully sqirted some oil on that area. Again, use caution! Clean any residual, reinstall it and give it a try. Mine is now very quiet, and I have saved lots of $$$$$, at least for now. Good luck with it.
