My 93 olds cierra 3.1l did not start one morning so I let it sit for a week and then it started. it ran fine for 2 days then the next morning did the same thing. Now all it does is start and run for about 2 seconds and then dies. At first I thought it was the fuel filter or fuel pump and then it ran for 2 days straight. I am guessing it is electrical. Anyone have any ideas where to start. I am not very knowlegable about engines but I think I can fix this problem if I knew where to start.

Check the fuel related items, and when it doesn't start check to see if it is getting proper spark.

It fires for about 2 seconds and then quits. I would think if it was a fuel problem it would have not run for those two days.

do a tune up before anything, if that won't help check ignition module, coils, crank and cam sensors. but your best bet take to computer diagnostic shop.
