My first question is with regards to oil pressure. At idle, where should a 1990 Talon TSI sit for its oil pressure?
My second question is about mixing synthetic and none synthetic. I recently went on a long distance trip and wound up stuck in the middle of small towns where I couldent find anyone who carried synthetic oil. I was very low so decided to just put in a liter of conventional oil with my other 4 liters or so of synthetic. Do I need to change it all out or should I be ok?

in regards to the synthetic thing. I really don't use it, only because its just supposed to make your oil changes further apart in time. if you change your oil 3mo. or every 3,000 miles like you are supposed to, just use the best for your engine :)
Oh, i your going to mix oil, make sure its basically the same stuff. or at least the same viscosity. when you change your own oil. get an oil pan, unplug the plug (if the fluid come out red... shove that plug back in, thats automatic transmission fluid.) let the oil drain and take the filter off. put the new filter on then fill her up. make sure you put that plug back in though.
also, when you put the filter in, grab some oil from one of the bottles (just put a dab on your finger) and put some of the oil on the top of the filter. just to make it kinda moist. thats at least what i do. Cheers.

Synthetic is not just about longer change intrivals..... I'm not sure about mixing though.
Advantages
The benefits for synthetic motor oils include:
* Better low temperature viscosity performance.
* Better high temperature viscosity performance.
* Decreased evaporative loss
* Reduced friction
* Reduced engine wear
* Improved fuel efficiency
* Chemical stability
* Resistance to oil sludge problems
* Some synthetic motor oil producers offer extended drain intervals
Disadvantages
The disadvantages of synthetic motor oils include:
* Initial cost
* Potential oil seal problems - if the oil does not contain sufficient seal conditioners.
* Potential decomposition problems in certain chemical environments
* Potential stress cracking of plastic componentry like POM (polyoxymethylene) in the presence of PAO's.

I appreciate the advice but I already know how to change oil haha, and my TSI is after all a 5 speed so I dont have to worrie about auto tranny fluid...but, I just put this synthetic in befor the trip and the only reason I lost so much oil is because my oil return line from my turbo needed to be tightened. The simple answer would be to just change all my oil out yes but its pretty much new and it set me back a couple bucks so...if I can leave it id like to. Its just that Ive heard rumors about the molicules in the two types are different and that in turn causes the oil to foam. Also Im still curious about where my pressure should sit?
