How to fix engine electrical problem: I believe there is a short, drained a new battery, and doesn't start the engine. The alternator and the starter has been replaced recently. I would like to know if the starter relay may cause this problem. Many thanks for your help.

Are you sure the alternator is working properly? I've had that happen with a starter before - replaced it with a new one that was junk... pain in the ass. Just make sure before doing much else.

The alternator is new and rebuild starter, we checked before installing in the van. l've forgot to mention there is a aftermarket alarm system. The alarm was installed when van was brand new. Never had problems, till many now, it's sure piss me off. 2yrs ago van was repaired at electrial shop with a over 800.00 bill. Now cures is back. If there no solution, van will get towed to gm dealership. Many thanks again and happy new 2007 year. Some day if l get army tank I run over it (angry management).
