I'm looking to get some information on what I need to repair on my truck because I don't have the manual for it. I have a 2000 s-10 single cab, manual transmission. It's right at 90k miles and I haven't done any real maintenance other than brakes and oil changes and air filters since I got it with 37k miles about 5 years ago. I don't know a whole lot about doing the repairs, but I want to try and do as much of it as I can myself.

My friends told me I can pick up a book from an autoparts store that has information on how to do the repairs myself, so I can get that... But i don't know if that has the information on what to do at certain mileage.

Any information or links would help.
Thanks

you can go to an autoparts store and pick up a Haynes manual for your S10. make sure it's the correct year, etc.

that has a very well-defined maintenance schedule in it, telling what should be inspected/replaced at what mileage.

here's a general maintenance schedule for your truck:http://www.partsamerica.com/MaintenanceTypes.aspx?stypename=Federal&maintschedid=8480

i'd go ahead and buy the Haynes manual. it's handy for keeping up with maintenance and gives a plethora of values, capacities, advice, and specifics.
