hey everybody, i LOVE audis, always have. i was looking into getting a 2000-2001 V6 S4 in the future or a 98-02 A4 1.8. and i just had a few questions.
1. do S4's offer sport packages like the A4's? i remember before when i was looking at A4's, i always had to make sure it had the sport package, do i have to worry about checkin for that with an S4?
2. Are the S4's known for having more/less/same problems as other audis?
3. i dont think i ever see S4's on ebay with more than 100k miles, what kind of engine life do they have? i know you can usually get high up in mileage with audi engines. and what about the A4 1.8T's too?
4. with the A4's and S4's are there any years where they tweaked the suspension or made handling significantly better?
5. How much better are the S4's handeling then the A4's?

The S4 is like Audi's M3. It's a high-performance version of the A4.

what about the TT, how does that compare to the A4 in handling/reliability

well, with all my research, the a4 is more for practical uses, while the s4 is all about preformance.. the TT is a nice vehicle but it only can hold 2 people.. it all depends on what you want in a vehicle
im currently buying an audi a4 (2005) 1.8t prem/sport/light/ski package now the a4 is heavy and not much power and even though you have the sport package it dosent really do anything excpet add rims... the s4 though, has a racing set up.. tight suspension high horsepower and in all reality is a much better car, but when saying that the engine will not last as long as the a4's because its run at such a high level.
the tt also has the same problems as the s4 but not at much, id recommend that you only get a tt if you have another vechile because the TT is very very impractical..
hope this helps

the sport package gives it better suspension right? at least it did on the older a4's. I dont know what to get, i cant decide between a4 and s4. i do seem to hear bad things abot the tt's reliability. I think im leaning more towards a 98-01 a4 1.8t, just cause of the price. I dont care all that much about power, i just need good handling, and i want it to look nice. the s4 defenitly looks nicer then the a4, but how much better is the handling?
