i have a CB radio that takes a 13.8v DC power supply, knowing that my Cig. lighter only takes 12v, how do i run this into the fuse box.

also anyone know how i can attach the CB antenna into my main antenna, i would really like to not have a giant antenna on the back of my car

your voltage draw does not make a difference your cars charging system will automatically take care of that, as for installing in the fuse box get a light tester and test the cigarette lighter fuse (good choice) goes on ONLY when ignition is turned to the on or accessory position (to prevent cb from accidentally being left on) if so tap into that using a fuse tap or inline tap (should be your red wire from cb) then find and clean a good chassis ground (for example seatbelt mounting) connect your antenna , turn ignition on and test system. There's alot of choices for antenna but to increase your range I would use an independent antenna for your cb (try checking out places like radioshack).
Hope this helps

I don't think you can double up on the antennas if I remember right... you have to have a seperate one.

What's wrong with CB's? They're great for when your cell phone isn't in service when travelling with somone else in another vehicle, + you can hear the truck driver chatter lets you know what's up the road.

It's good for finding out where the cops are too on certain roads. Truck drivers are good about that.
