im extremly new. i dont know a lot about cars. i know general maintenence, but nothing else. what can i do to give my little 4 cylinder scoin xB some more horse power? i know this is a very broad question and sorry for not being able to narrow it down a little more, but like i said i have kind of a lack of knowledge about cars. thank you.

That would probably be your best bet, along with the supporting modifications. Do some reading in our Forced Induction forum, a lot of great information in there.

I believe that the XB is the lowest hp vehicle that scion puts out. There is a reason, it was meant to be economical. That said, the only noticable gains will be from either nitrous or frced induction, like Mike said. I would def stay away from nitrous if you have the money for forced induction.

You can try to find an exhaust and induction, but I don't think you will be happy. You may only get 20hp between an induction, muffler and cat delete and tune, all for about $800...that's pretty expensive hp.

$ for $ nitrous would be the biggest gain hands down. But being new at all this i wouldn't suggest it. I'd take it to a speed shop in your area, hell even toyota has superchargers they throw in scions all the time now. Its a new option. Not sure if it can go on the Xb but they will point you in the right direction.
