There is a lot you can do. The question is how much do you have to spend?

Well i mean it has stock 170horsepower. Would it be worth putting headers and an intake on it ? Or just save up to get a newer camaro with the LS1?

Depends...do you want an LS1 camaro or do you want to stick with the 305 camaro??

or you could put a LS-1 in your 92' or you could buy a crate motor 383 add the TPI and upgrade the injectors and fuel pump. or or or....Let me know if you want to sell it.The 92 that is. I might have a buyer.

I wouldnt buy a crate anything or even run a 383 in a street car, you want something nice, get a LS1 or even LT4 I think youd be better with an LT4 honestly.

When I worked at the Chevy dealer, one of the techs who also raced stated that the 305s and the old 454s all had very small valves and could barely breath. It sounds like a set of heads and exhaust system would really open them up and make them what they should have been from the start.

The 305 was never meant to be a power house. It got ok gas milage for the time, but still gave that V8 sound for those looking for it. It's sort of like buying a V6 mustang...people just like the look of it. I dont really agree with it for my taste, but hey, who am I to decide what sells, I have a 400hp SUV that no one understands. ;)

you just have to know how to do it correctly, in High Performance Pontiac, they did this. first thing is fuel pump, wires, plugs, stuff that normaly wears. then itll idle better. add in an adjustable fuel pressure reg from holly, and complete exhaust, and you can get an additional 14hp. but without turning up the fuel pressure again, the torque dropps too. its really difficult to get bolt-ons to work on tpi's unless you want to bolt on a vortech supercharger, but even doing that i would get different heads to breath better.

all it takes is money

Anyone have a site where i can look around for an LS1 or an LS4 for brand new engine so i can compare prices.

Thanks a lot.

there is no LS-4.
there is a LS-2.
Buying a LS or LT motor is going to cost more than most crate motors.Summit Racing has 5.7 350 cid crate ready to go with 350 hp and will drop it on your door for you. see Summitracing.com or call 1800-230-3030.
If it where my car and it did have TPI fuel injection I would go 383 4 bolt mains with AFR 2.02 heads. Up-grade the injectors and fuel pump and add headers, new exhaust and call it a day. Untill I could work on the trans and beaf it up. But hey that just me.
