Is it possible with a scan tool to turn off certain dash warning lights so that they are not alluminated all the time. The car is a 98 Cavilier and I have a engine service light on as well as a ABS light on all the time and I do not want to spend any more money trying to fix the problem.

What have you done to fix the problem?

Chances are, you need a scan tool to find the codes and reset them if need be.

I have a scan tool but it won't pick up the codes for the ABS. I also have my air bags disconnected and that light is on. I've repaired the engine service code now and have that one off.

Why do you have the Air bags disconnected?

The long and the short of it is that my wife is not well and the air bags hitting her could cause her very serius injury.

Hmmmm, no chance of her sitting in the back seat? If so, would connecting the airbag stop the problem?
