Hey all I just bought a 1993 Mercury Tracer, 1.9l engine, 4spd auto trans. The car runs fantastic! It has new plugs, wires, t belt, water pump. As I said before it runs great around town.. the moment I go to get on the freeway though it acts like it wants to cut out, I let off the gas pedal and push down again and it goes. Any ideas anyone? :werd:
no check engine light? if so you should go to advance auto and get them to check them, it's free. they might wanna sell you something, but that's up to you. when i went and did i said no, i'll be back sometime and left

Hey all still havnt got the time to mess with the car, it runs great in town (no hesitation), things I noticed though at higher speeds is it pings (like timing is off?), and on hills it cuts out, let off gas it goes. No check engine light as of yet. the car has 96k original on it. I was pokin round the net and I read somewhere someone said an Idle Air Valve? I dont know, I dont want to replace everything just to be rid of the hesitation, as I said over 40 mph is when it happens.. I drive a truck for a living so my posting is sporadic, thanks all for the help!
