I own a 2003 Rendezvous that has had a serious engine problem on two different occasions. Both times it happened on a long trip(several hundred miles). We have had the rocker arm studs pulled completely out of the head, threads and all. The first time it was #2 cylinder(front head). The second time two months later it happened to #1 cylinder(back head). Both repairs involved drilling out the holes and using a thread insert to make make the repair. On both occasions it pulled both the intake & exhaust studs. Engine is a 3400 and the vehicle has about 55,000 miles accumilated. Has anyone else encountered this problem? and what might be the cause?
