Hi, I just purchased a 93 Geo Tracker that is in fair condition. I'm don't no anything about these little creature as I am used to full size dodge and Chevy 4x4's. The first thing I was wondering is that I have been searching eBay for parts ect and see allot of listing for items that will fit on Suzuki’s as well as the tracker. Are they basically the same? Also how much of a lift could I give the tracker without making many mods to the drive train and suspension? I would then like to know what can I do to the engine that would give it more horsepower without sacrificing gas mileage? I plan on pulling a 5x8 trailer with a 4 wheeler and from time to time playing in the mud.

Thanks

I used to work for a GM dealership and almost ALL of the parts we got in were from Suzuki. You can always call a dealership for them to confirm it.

Remember something though, first, you are not going to get your money out of the Tracker when you sell it. You are going to be throwing away your money, in a sense. If you lift it, put bigger tires on it, the lack of horsepower will seem worse too. Heavier tires to rotate and you will want to avoid the highway as much as possible.

As for pulling a trailor, I have no idea how it will do. Not sure I would have bought a Tracker for your puroses though. JMO...

I don't know if it is a 1.3 or 1.6. It was pretty much giving to me from my father n law and I am going to pick it up next week. I am driving a dodge 1500 4x4 raised 4" with over sized tires but the gas is killing me. I may even go a lttle further and put in a chevy 6 cylinder and tranny. More work than i intended to put into it but wth it's a toy and it's only money and time. I've seen some sort of turbo chargers and chips on e-bay that claim to increase HP. Does anyone know anything about those?

:wavey: SKE250 - the only way to go. I have a '91 Tracker. It's my daily driver AND fun buggy. I added Pacer 8"x 15 rims (5) and 235R78-15 M/S tread. Without a lift that's the max. I climb 60* (steep) hills with my 5 yr-old twin grandaughters, who also like to "play in the mud". Calmini and Rocky Road Outfitters are the better parts suppliers. Also check out a few web sites like "Zuki World" and (I can't remember at the moment) that specialize in the Tracker/Sammy vehicle. For serious off-roaders there seems to be almost a cult following of the little "cuties". They may not have the size and power of a Jeep, but they can go a few more places because of the size and lack of weight. You can scoot over mud and snow when others dig down. The only fault I have found is the lack of weight when on wet, twisty roads - gets loose easy. The softop comes off easy and goes on as quick. Keep 'em spinnin'. :3gears: You should have a 1.6 engine - maybe the 16 valve and the book calls for a 5.16:1 diffs. Low gears but you can still peg the speedo.
