Been working with Kia lately, since they won the JD Power award on their Rio. Wanted to get some perspective on what you all thought about it -seems like they’re trying to get into the game and throw some pressure into the car market. What do you think? For me, it seems to be one of the few smaller cars that I wouldn’t mind having if they’re as good as the award says…

I jsut read a review on it and it didn't seem that bad.

Otherwise, it's a Kia...if you don't expect much, you will be much happier. :D

The Korean Krap - Kia and Hyundai - is SO badly built that the ONLY way they can peddle these POS to the American public is to tack on a 100,000 mile warranty.......and, if you really pay attention to the TV commercials, the warranty is what they sell because they REALLY don't have anything outstanding in the car to pitch.

The COSTS of administering this warranty are, of course, rolled into the price you overpay for what you get with such a POS.

Without such a warranty, the cars should probably sell for $3,000 to $5,000 less - if they could sell them at all.....of course, you would then, likely, pay that sort of money in repairs over the years. The manufacturer knows exactly what it will cost to administer the warranty, and boosts the price of each unit accordingly.

Canuck, you may be right but look at all the other car makers before you bad mouth a product. GM,Ford, chysler, toyota, and a few others make offers of long term warranties and cash back discounts in one form or another. do your homework 1st.

I like KIA's alot. (U can tell by my username). The only KIA that I thought was not good is the 1999 KIA Sephia my friend had. Everytime you turn around, it had to be taken to the shop. The only bad thing about KIA is their resale value. I 've had a few relatives who've had good luck with them. I think Nissan is the crappiest car made. Don't buy one!!!
