My 2000 Intrigue has started overheating. I have changed the thermostat and the hoses. I drove it for 3 days and it did fine, then it started overheating again...it will go almost to the H and then drop back down on its own. But it only does that sometimes. Most of the time the needle will fluctuate up and down getting no higher than the middle line. Can this be a water pump problem?? I am clueless. Thanks!

makes sure there's nothing blocking the radiator.
make sure the radiator fan(s) work and aren't damaged.

do you have any coolant leaks?
if none of those solve the problem, the water pump drivebelt may be defective or out of adjustment.
