My 3.3 l grand caravan sport doesn't start, it just clicks. I also notice that sometimes the gear indicator lights are all lite and in boxed. I can also shift the car into gear with out any key in the ignition. This happens form time to time . I just changed the battery since it seems that the battery loses charge when the van sits for 6-7 hours. I had the altenator check which was fine. The dealer said that it appears to have a electrical draw occuring which runs the battery down?
I did have some trouble the ignition system where the key would not go in the key slot. I finely was able to get it in and all this started.
Could it be the ignition switch? OR igniton housing/system?

Try a reliable set of jumper cables and try it with your new battery jumped to your sport. If this still fails it could be your solenoid assembly or starter that has a problem.
