so my transmission no longer has 5th gear and instead of rebuilding it i'd like to put a new highperformance transmission in my 97 eclipse gs-t does anyone have any ideas or thoughts on what i should put in it

I'm not sure what transmissions will swap into your car, but if you want to get it rebuilt, I can give you some advice on things to upgrade.

I'm going to bump this for now, maybe someone else can help you with the swappable transmission question. There may be companies that sell a high performance version of your stock transmission.

yeah i am, but i found out what was wrong with my transmissoin, i looked under the hood and had a friend shift the gears and a bracket that held my shift cables in place was completely unbolted, two ****ing bolts were missing and the bracket was just floating around in my engine bay, i found the bolts sitting on the tranny and bolted them in, after that my gears were alot tighter and it was alot easier to shift, i'm runnin the si agian tomorrow and an rsx
