I have many hours into this. I inherited the problem as follows. The water pump hub had come off the shaft of the pump sending the fan into the shroud. After new shroud and pump replacement the alternator belt "throws off" at higher rpm hard acceleration.

What's the alt pulley look like? Any damage?

the pulley is perfect cant see any reasons for the dilema
