Dealer has informed me that a blinking AC light means it needs to be reprogrammed. Can anyone besides a dealer reprogram AC? After repairs were done to van (my vehicle manual disappeared) they disconnected my battery too long. The light blinks, but if you go for a long drive it stops blinking? Any suggestions or should I just break down and let the dealer do the reprogram? The air both cold and hot still work, the light just blink. Any help would be appreciated

How much does the dealer want to make the light stop blinking? If the a/c is still working and they want to charge you a rediculous ammount, I wouldn't do it. I'd opt to get another service manual and do it yourself.

$39.00 for the reprogram. They tell me eventually it will mess up the system if I don't have it reprogramed - that it wont be able to regulate temperature correctly. If I go on short trips and turn the car off it keeps blinking. But when I make my trip to town (75 miles one way) the lights quit blinking 10+ miles out of town. I have ordered a new manual but this dealer is telling me I can hurt the system the longer I wait. I just wanted to see if someone knew if a reprogram was even possible for a person to do on their own or if this is one of those "dealer" things you can't avoid anyways.

Here is how it says to calibrate it: Set blower motor on high, Set mode to panel, Open all A/C outlets, Set tempature to cold, Press the Wash & Rear Wiper buttons at the same time & hold for 5 seconds. If it performs right it will flash some of the buttons & when it is done the only one left flashing will be the Rear Wiper LED. Push rear wiper button to exit. If this does not fix it, you may have to take it to a garage.
