i believe that page also said he lost 300lbs from the car, so 49hp in a 1400-1500 pound car wouldn't be too horrible. no race car, but some people will take economy over performance

i thought i might add, this car achieved 75mpg without any engine mods. the only thing that was done was the rather extreme body mods. course, more can always be done. i know he could pick up a mpg or 2 with a lighter underdrive. heard guys say they can start off in 4th with it.

true, the wing blows and it doesn't look like something that would take all that much skill to build. but he took a 50mpg car and made it a 70mpg car by just doing that. the engine is old, late 80's. much better could be achieved if there was any bit of work done to the engine. he could probably get at least 80 if he got a little more compression, better spark(msd), an under drive.....

and some metro owners coast a lot, some even turn off their cars. this guy didn't do that. you can more mpg by doing so. sometimes i coast. the car has no power stearing and it has power asist breaks, so i'm out very little if the engine were to die. still illegal and not the safest.

 That isnt a wing, its a support that he didnt want to take out of the car.
