I have a question...about how much money wouls it cost to make my Eclipse RS be just as fast as a GSX

You would need a turbo AWD platform to be the equivalent of a GSX, so probably quite a bit.

You can get a turbo kit for your car, but you still wouldn't have the AWD platform.

The RS is FWD and has NO options like power windows, locks etc which I hate cuz i'm used to those options. It has a chrysler engine called 420A and is non turbo. The GSX has all the options, it's AWD and has a Turbo. The GSX has a Mitsubishi engine called 4g63t. And NO you cannot do a engine swap

That's the only RS worth mentioning if an RS was worth mentioning. The topic is about a 99 RS so why would he be talking about a 3G RS? And why would he want to know the diffirence between A GSX which is a 1G+2G and 3G RS? He was obviously talking about a 2G.

ok first off i have 2 rs's, a everyday driver and a built rs. Word of advice don't dump any money into the engine. My built motor has 8:1 j&e pistons eagle rods, star stage 2 turbo kit with large front mount, and a 75 shot wet NX into the intercooler and it still only runs 12.3 in the quarter and thats on 15psi safely. When i get my intake manny and 1000cc injectors i am moving it up to 22psi and hoping to hit 11.7 or better, but to get it to where it is right now i have close to 7 grand in the motor. just get a GSX trust me.

O yeah and u can too do a swap over to the 4g63t, just takes a lot of time and swapping parts like making ur own motor mounts, changing out ur ecu and all the wiring etc...i know because my friend did it in his 2g, just wasnt worth the time or money

naa i don't hate myself i love dsm for some reason. I will ask him for the pics he has numerous pics of them doing the swap on the car

99.9% of real DSMers look down on the RS. Why would you get 2 RS? I'm not gonna say I love DSM. I love the second generation Eclipse GSX. I'm not too crazy about the talon, laser, and other DSMs

people can look down on my 2 rs's all they want, but the one eclipse i have is going to be all show, and the other people really don't mess with because even tho it is only a rs i can still beat almost anyone around here. I will admit it prolly was a waste of money but it is nice when ppl are just like o its an rs and then i whip all over them, especially people with V8's. I love gsx's but i don't see no fun in building one up because it is too easy to make them fast unlike the rs.

Oh and by the way I raise the BS on that swap that you claim that your friend did. The swap has only been done once successfully and the engine eventually blew. If you beat V8s in a 13 second RS it must a crappy V8 or the driver just simply suck. I think making an RS a show car is a good idea but that just about all you can really do with the RS and use it as a daily driver.
