My son has a 1993 Olds cutlass and is having trouble getting it started. When he tries to start it, the starter motor spins, but doesn't engage the flywheel until he has tried it 20 or 30 times when it will finally catch and start the engine. He replaced the solenoid, but that didn't help. Any suggestions as to what might be the problem?

Sounds like the bendix in the starter is not engaging. Probably needs to get a new starter or have the old one rebuilt.
