G'day all,
You may know that im a proud owner of a Silvia K but I also own a 1.5lt SOHC Carbi CC Lancer Coupe, as seen in the pic under my name.
I was thinking that the old Lancer, a.k.a 'Mighty Mouse', needs some more ommph. I know there is not much point modifing the 4G15 so I am thinking of a engine swap. I dont really want to go either the fuel injected 4G15 or the 1.8lt DOHC engine. I am thinking more along the lines of 4G63Turbo (evo III) or 4G93 MIVEC?
Im asking two questions;
1) What donk should I go for?
and
2) Im awaire that either of these motors fit because Ive seen such conversions done, but what to do with the centre diff to keep the car FWD and not waste drive going no were to the 'rear' wheels? Can u somehow lock it up with the ol' welder? Ive locked diffs up before with a welder but the diffs seem to fail pretty quickly after a couple of hard slogs.
