there are 3 vehicles that qualify for free metered parking in salt lake city. 94 metro xfi, 2000-2006 honda isight, 2001-2006 toyota prius. these vehicles qualify for this because they have an epa rating of 50mpg or higher. there are other ways to qualify, i think maybe propane? dunno. i just thought it was funny that a car over 10 years old stacks up with new high tech gagitry. i know...not in the same class, but still funny

the xfi isn't a marvel of technology or anything, but it is interesting. did you know that they only use 2 rings on the pistons? it's just a different aproach at mpg, low tech light weight style. cheap too. i have yet to read of xfi's having trouble with the only 2 ring thing, but i haven't looked into them a whole bunch. i can barely stand my 1 liter of fury with it's 55hp, let alone how little a xfi has. it has a different cam, ignition system, smaller tb, 2 rings. all that adds up to rated 49/59mpg.
