WOW sounds like you've got EVERYTHING planned out. How much do u have to spend on the car? Do you plan on doing all that at once or trying to find a car with most of that stuff already done?

I'm going to try to find a stock one or somthing close to it. Whatever has the least amout of miles and that kind of stuff. I plan on putting about 5 or 6 grand into the car. I can get about 4 or 5 grand from now till next summer in 2007 then saving up for the parts. I also have a quad that i would probly sell and get about 2 or more grand for it.

It seems we're on the boat cuz I wanna get a Second generation eclipse 2 but I'll probably stay away from 95-96 models. They crankwalk more often. You do know that a GS is non-turbo right? And miles don't mean anything. Do a compression test, that will tell you a lot more about the engine than the miles cuz i got 222K miles on my mirage. And you will most likely blow your engine if you use Nitrous without rebuilding it. And you should also get a turbo kit(turbo, pipes, FMIC, etc). If you want real speed get a GST or GSX not a GS. It will cost you less to make A GST faster but it seems like you wanna "rice" out your ride

Alright thanks. Ill probly go with either a GST or a GSX. What does crankwalk mean? And when you say rebuild do you mean like the piston rings cam and vavles? How much does that normally cost? What companys do you reccomend for the parts? Sorry for being a pain in the ass lol

Good choice because the gs turbo kit cost like $2k and it's not worth it.
Crankwalk is "a crankshaft that moves too much inside the engine. This is also known as excessive thrust bearing play. The movement is usually due to the crankshaft not fitting inside its bearings correctly. While not bad for the crankshaft, the movement can place excessive or uneven loads on the bearings, causing premature failures.

Many 2G owners have suffered from walking crankshafts. It appears that Mitsubishi built many 2G engines using defective crankshafts, which were machined out of specification and are thus capable of moving around too much inside the block. All 2G model years appear to be affected to some degree.

To fix this problem, Mitsubishi has designed several versions of matching crankshaft bearings. This allows the defective motor to retain the crankshaft, yet matches the bearings correctly so as to eliminate the excessive crankshaft movement. Matching the bearings in this manner is tricky and requires exact information about when the crankshaft was manufactured, which may be determined by color markings on the crankshaft itself. The 2G factory manual includes information on how to match crankshafts to bearings. "

I heard it can be fixed for like $500 but it happens to like 5% of eclipse so you shouldn't really worry too much about it. And if by 100K miles the car hasn't crankwalked yet it probably won't. yeah you got the right idea with the rebuilding part but there's more parts. I'm not sure about the the price to rebuilt an engine but you don't really have to if you get a GST or GSX because they will be able to handle 400HP and I don't think tou're aiming that high so you should be ok. As for parts ebay is your friend when you're on a budget. Also try DSMtuners.com for info. They have a lot of information on DSM which is what your car is.

Hey thanks man, you have been really helpful. I just have one more question. Where do you connect the lights up to like under body neon lights and stuff like that.

That I don't know but it comes with instructions so you'll figure it out when you get your neon kit. Or get it proffesionally installed.
