definately never been a fan of Fords, id sooner buy a Dodge before a Ford....
...however since General Motors doesnt seem to be able to produce a car or a truck thats worth a shit anymore, either based on looks or performance, both Ford & Mopar look better and better everyday. :bluewink:

i dont know if i can agree with that. GM has the new C6 vette and the zo6...i dont even need to expain this. GM has produced the GTO which out easily out performs the dodge hemi chargers, the ford mustang gts, and not to mention plenty of cars much more expensive. the silverado has been a super performing truck. the 5.3L in a regular cab short bed truck can take hemis all day long stock for stock, ive seen it before. and GM produces the silverado SS, the VHO, and the vortexmax which all come with the LQ9 (6.0L high output trim) that puts out great HP and TQ numbers and mods verrryy easily (its a LS1 variant). the VHOs (and iam gonna guess 2wd silverado SS's too) on 17 inch wheels (drop the factory 20s) are able to run faster than stock ford lightnings. pretty good performance IMO.
GM has some severe problems, but nothing they cant overcome. regardless of how badly most say they are doing, they do have good performing vehicles. as far as looks go, thats all in the eye of the beholder. i for one, am struck in awe by the GTOs styling....i simply love it. The silverado SS's are beautiful IMO, i think they are the best looking trucks on the road. albeit its all opinions on styling.

here is 2 great performing and great looking GM vehicles. I dont think too many will argue with me. of course it is all a matter of opinion, so i wont be mad if somebody thinks they are ugly.

yeah, see the GTO looks like an overweight Cavalier, which maintained the same design since what, the mid 90's? Modifications are a joke when we start debating because anyone can claim "just this much money and i'll get _____hp and _____performance that'll outrun your ______________"
Chrysler's designs might be controversial but at least they are distinctly AMERICAN. it's very fortunate that other manufacturer's are finally taking notice. When you can look at a period of time stretching from about 1974 untill 2004 and only find about three mass-produced American cars that elicit even the slightest amount of respect (GNX, C5 and IMO the 87-93 Notchback 5.0 LX Mustang for it's modibility).....well, something needs to be done. That it took a German company to tell an American company how to build an American car is no surprise to me. the Big 3 were so bloated, prideful and ignorant of buyers desires (not to mention it infuriates me to think that they have so little respect for their buyer that they would try to sell Americans the crap they served us in their dealerships)...it was a true wakeup call when the 300C, Magnum and Charger did as well as they did. Glad someone else heard it before Ford and GM were under the umbrella of Toyota or VW.

Umm 4th Generation LS1 Fbody... ? Quicker stock than the 5.0, same engine as the C5...

yeah, but it was sooo friggin ugly.....(naw, honestly, i'll never use my opinion of a car's looks to judge the car overall, it's too subjective)
but seriously, the horror stories of worse than terrible build quality of those F-bodies, along with the terrible ergonomics, hugely unnecessary front and rear overhangs, poor handling.....i just never had any amount of respect for the car. Only the top spec models ever warranted a second look (and subsequent shudder of revulsion) from me.

Todd@powerparts, DON"T SHIT TALK HEMIS! A 1971 Hemi cuda could easily outperform A GTO in a drag and in looks EASILY! The only thing a gto can beat is a Ford!
what's with you and reviving dead threads?

uhh, exactly WHERE was he "shit talking" hemis??? he just made an observation he had in real-life. you read too much into his words and jumped on his ass for no valid reason.
besides, anyone can have their opinion: i say so, and it's one of the reasons CF has been so successful.
