hi, im hoping someone here can help me out, i have a 1997 volkswagen golf 4 door 2.0 liter engine im trying to find out where the dcl connector is located also trying to find out if anyone knows if this is obd 1 or obd 2 diagnostic system.

I thought in 1996 and up it was manditory to have OBDII. Were there some stragglers?

VW was a little behind I believe, he is going to have to check the date code on when the car was made to find out for sure
