I am trying to run down an "on" ABS light on my 93 ES300 . On the Diagnostic Trouble Code Check Box (DCL1). The instructions are to connect terminals E1 to Tc(With SST 09843-18020) and when the Key on, the ABS light will blink a pattern which indicates a code and therefore the problem area. I of course do not have a SST. In the manual it appears to be nothing but a fancy piece of wire. Does anyone know if this is true. Would I do any damage with a piece of wire?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Bill :dunno:

Just link diagnostic terminals Tc and E1 with a highly calibrated paperclip(Ha,Ha) and switch your ignition to on (do not start the engine) and you will see the ABS light blink if there are stored codes.
