STi? They are a very nice car for sure... especially in that blue colour.

no i like the wrx better. the sti looks like a shopping cart and the extra 10,000 i didn't think it was worth it.

I wil be making an attempt in the end of Nov to purchase a WRX STI, so hopefullyi will be part of the subaru family as well

I like the 05 Sti's but I think the 06 model looks like shit but it does do 0-60 in 4.7seconds with a good driver.

Hi, I'm new here, I've currently got 4 Subes, but just 3 weeks on the XT. Just spent a day running mining roads in Northern Ontario with my crazed racer cousin. Kinda funny since we are both 52. Sideways, airborne,full throttle, hard brakes and 52.00 bucks worth of gas. Found oyr limits before we found the cars'.

And spent a LOT of time on the " O SHIT " handle !

One of the the potetntial problems is losing efficiency at high speeds as air starts to pass over the hood scoop. People contend the FMIC creates too much of a drastic pressure drop to make it worth the expense. COBBtuning, I think, recently released their own design, and I would trust those guys with anything Subaru-related.

Oh, I'm also a subie fan. Although my wife drives the car while I work on my 7 (forever on jackstands :lol: ) and take the bus to school. Although I wouldn't say they are all that fast, they are a blast to drive (especially with racing seats) and great for our region of the country.

I guess it depends on what speed the air doesn't pass over the TMIC. I see it as a balancing act.

TMIC : less pressure drop by a longshot, less lag..But there is more of a heatsoak issue. With the problem of air not hitting it at high speeds, I just say get a bigger hood scoop, such as an STi scoop...But I do not know at what speed air ceases to hit the TMIC. If it's well over 100-120mph, I won't be worried about it :)

FMIC : Less heatsoak issue. Air will keep hitting it. Needs a bigger turbo to get desired boost pressure, but by doing so, requires more to spin up the turbo. So usually people with somewhat large turbos get the FMIC. A FMIC on a stock WRX turbo will give horrid lag.

I sayed he looked cool where it is didn't thats the most efficent place for it.
