I have a 92 Dodge Caravan with ABS Brakes...The Hydraulic Control unit went out...my brakes would not work at all...i have replaced this part and have bled the lines numerous times...now i have brakes but the pedal will not come back on its own i have to pull it back with my foot...my question is has anyone seen this and is this a faulty hydraulic control unit or is this the power boost pump or did i not get the lines bled right...HELP...i am not a mechanic and am at my wits end but can not afford to take this to a shop...thanks

That sounds like it is getting a pressure lock in the system. I don't know much about that specific model but I will say you are probobly going to have to get rid of it. I would ditch the abs completely and see if you can get available brake lines from a pre 1990 caravan that does not have ABS and replace it. You will have the idiot light on for the abs but it will give you manual brakes and get your problem solved.
Also.. before you go and rule that out. Have you checked the brake booster itself? that is what gives the vaccum assist to raise the pedal as well as assist you in braking.. you might want to go there first check the vaccum line for leaks and see if you can do a pressure check on the vaccum booster itself.

okay when you talk about the brake booster are you talking about the seperate pump assembly...otherwise this thing is one whole unit...ie (master cylinder, reservoirs, and hydraulic assembly) but there is a seperate pump motor assembly that i have not replaced
