Well it looks like they are, and it will be heavily based off of the Volvo S80 and Ford Galaxy minivan. Should be interesting to see, although I don't know how well a Volvo van will sell. Seems rather pointless to me

I bet it will do well, families love the name volvo. It's for someone who wants something larger then a V70 but doesn't want to drive a XC or stray away from the volvo brand.

Volvos safety ratings are awesome. I'm sure they would do very well with a mini van

A volvo Minivan would be genius people would be playing 40K+ for a volvo minivan because they "Feel" safe. Also it would be good competion for the Benz R-Class

This would be very very smart of Volvo. I haven't heard this rumour, and Swedish car media are always keen on rumours surrounding Saab and Volvo. However, many families buy teh XC90 just because it has loads of space and is practicle. All in a very appealing shell. This would be a very good move. A premium minivan? Perhaps not as bad of an idea after all.

I really think a new volvo's minivan would be popular. it'a a car for family mostly. so nothing won't trouble.

Would be kick ass if they'd call it "New Duett" or something. Y'know, retro is all the rage, and Volvo have had a very successful van in the past, the old duett:

I've always wondered why they didnt have a minivan..
They are one of the biggest names in safety.

wow, okay, for real, stop it now.
meh, it's not nearly as bad as someone answering an "urgent help needed" thread that's years old
Is it a rule that I am only allowed to post a reply on threads from this week or something? Wtf..
no, but most people don't dredge up old posts that have already been discussed

i,ve never seen this thread before, anyway
i think this volvo safety stuff is overrared now, before it was true, but now most cars do as good as volvo in crash tests, look at hunday or kia van crash ratings, just as good as volvo. what ever volvo had before, no longer exlucive to it. stereotype. plus volvos aren,t that reliable, and deffinatly overpriced.

the design of a volvo is far superior and safer than most those cars. they may score the same, but that doesn't impress me. have you seen the beams they put into the sides of volvo's?
but yes, currently they are overpriced fords.

funny you should mention beams, yes i saw them i also saw how difficult to pull a frame on volvo, they are hell for body straightning.

i,ve seen a guy crash a 96 0r 97 taurus, at at least 60mph he hit 4or 5 parked cars, than hit a pole, did 180 and crashed into another parked car, it was a mess, but aside from his car being fcuked up all around and unrepareble frame damage, the guy came out with a few cuts and bruses, i never expected taurus stand the crash that good, taurus is slow, not too reliable, but its body sure is strong, i had a rental taurus, it was regular vulkan engine, slow as turtle, but it felt like a vault inside, and handled surprisingly good, varuable sterring worked great, i can only imagine how sho was, too bad they killed it.

well, first, that's ridiculous, and two, it's kind of rude.

well, first, that's ridiculous, and two, it's kind of rude.
Not so much, it's just a matter of the thread's relevance. Most old threads are just old threads. You're welcome, as always, to comment, but don't be surprised when people shake their heads and move on when a thread from a year or so ago gets brought back up.
some things, like this, can still be discussed in a valid way. helping someone with a car problem from 2 years ago, not so much. then again, it could help someone searching for help today. it all depends.
but like shane said, your post might be ignored if it's an old topic
well, first, that's ridiculous, and two, it's kind of rude.
Thank You!
