I have a 99 Eclipse GST and i wish to buy a new engine and most likely a tranny. I wanted to know if you guys could refer me to any sites that have nice prices on these types of things and if you could fill me in on what engine i should get so i can get the most for the money.

Get a 6 bolt (from the earlier cars 90-92) as there no crank walk worries. If you make huge power and have tranny probelms shepracing.com rebuilts trannys that can hold disgusting numbers.

If you're looking for mad tyte jdm engines and whatever else you may want to know that the eclipse is an america only car and other people are taking the engine out of your car and have put them in trucks, hondas, berettas and other cars because they hold big power. The "jdm" engines you see on the web are the exact same engine (4g63) you have and come from galants and other japanese cars.

Yeah i think i have blown something in my engine. Everytime i drive it around the engine starts to smoke. All the liquids are at proper level and all i can think of is just getting a new engine. I'm not that mechanically advanced i mean im in an auto repair class at school but other than that i dont know that much about engines or cars. So thats why i sent a post in the forums to figure out whats wrong with my car.

Is it alot of heavy white smoke?
Probaly a head gasket or something.
