Not sure if this will hit the market or not, but it is possible. If it does, it should come out in 2010. It is called the A1 and should MSRP around 15-20,000 Euros. It will have 4 seats and will come with three doors and a diesel or the new twincharger engine.

BTW, the attached image above is NOT an official design concept, nor is it an indication of future Audi designs. It's a wooden model made by designer Steven van der Veen for the Michelin Design Challenge this year.

The mini will be the mini, the scion will be the scion why does anyone try competeing people won't buy an Audi Cooper?? They want an mini because it's unique not becuase they think it's a good car, same thing goes for the VW Bug.

Haha I was gonna say that things like a mirco machine, the size of it certainly didn't match up to the trees

I was going to say 'that's ugly and they can do so much better' but I guess thats irrelevant now.

an A1 or A3 wouldnt be a bad idea for Audi, and the Mini didn't exactly set new standards of reliability...so Audi wouldn't have any trouble competing on that level. Given that the front end of that thing looks more like a new Subaru, you can bet that an actual Audi sourced design would hold to their current theme (and, therefore, be quite attractive).

Considering that it could be built on the VW Polo platform it doesn't seem that production costs would be too high. if Profitibility is easily achieved then build away.

the A3 already exists, just they haven't brought it over here....A1 would be an alright idea, but unless the designer of alfa romeo took over audi too, I dont think it'll come out looking like the newer subarus

Here's another picture of what it could possibly look like. This is an artist rendering of the Audi A1/A2

I think its a great idea, if they could price it correctly i could see a lot of people buying it.

I like that new pic I think that it would replace the Beetle in the chick-car bracket

It looks like this vehicle has been confirmed by Audi and they plan to build it.
