has anyone replaced this on a 1998 dodge stratus es with the v6. it's suppose to be below the distibutor but i can't even see it. any advice would be appreciated :-) thanks Randy

OK I did some research... it is where you said it is located.

Are you positive the sensor is bad and needs to be replaced? I did a bit of reading on the subject and most people reporting the problem was usually with other things, and not the sensor itself.

i got the check engine light code for this and changed it out then .

no it's not fixed. the guy read the code for camsfaft sensor and gave me a crankshaft sensor. my car died again this morning once and the check engine light came back on and the same code as friday was read (i think p0340 camshaft postion sensor). i just went through that other sensor install for nothing :-(. my haynes book says the camshaft sensor is inside the distributor and must be replaced as an assembly. i just put a rebuilt distributor in this car 3 months ago. what's the odds of this really being bad? i hate to pull the distributor again but i have a lifetime replacement warranty on it. what are your thoughts Mike or anynoe. thanks from a frustrated Randy
