I have a 93 Talon, when i rev the engine above 3000 rpm it cuts out. The one thing i have found is if I unplug the MAS Air Flow Sensor then it will run above 3000 rpms, but at idle it will rev up to 1200 then drop down to 1000 and rev back up again until I plug it back in.

The check engine light does not come on when the MAS Air is plugged in, as soon as I unplug the sensor the check engine light comes on.

Any suggestions on what is causing it to bog down over 3000 rpm with MAS Air Flow Sensor plugged in....oh yeah, i did replace the MAS and it still does the same thing???????

The only thing I can compare it to is it acts like there is a rev limiter at 3000 rpms when the Mas Air is plugged in, unplug it and it runs to red line?

Thanks

The mass air meter might be bad and not reading above 3000 RPMs of air flow. Atleast you have the problem somewhat pinpointed.

well it's deff normal for the check engine light to come on after you unplug it...I hate trying to diagnose problems with dsm's...I've had two of em, i will never owne one again

I have replaced the Mass Air Sensor and it still acts the same way?

I was pretty sure it was this sensor since you unplug it and it will red line with no hesitation.

Could it be something else????

Thanks
