I've heard due to the recent cut backs at Ford, that they are going to ditch the GT project/production.
That sucks :(

No the GT is the new supercar Ford came out with, it costs like $140k or something around there.

Problems? Like what, selling a lot of them? lol...all new cars have problems.
And the GR1 is sick.

Too expensive, that was the big problem. Not to go on a Z06 tangent, but I'd buy a Z06 for half the price and put $2-3k back into it and walk all over the GT in every aspect of racing. Plus it was a Ford come on  jk

I like the look of the GT. for a long time I was trying to save up to build a GT kit and build it as I liked, but it's too expensive.. blah.

Breaking suspension components and leaking main seals are beyond "acceptable new car problems".

haha. dude. not to be a ford fan or anything.. but it's not like the cars where wrecked.. its more like..
" well lovey noticed a puddle of goo between the auuuston and the fer-arrri and we knew it had to be the gt, you know "
seriously, I'm certain these problems would have manifested on the track, but not on the street.
also.. those funny matts in the GT floorboard.. I made 150 of them @ Durable Products here in crossville Tennessee, at the press. So.. don't bite the hand that feeds you.

I was never a fan of the looks of these cars, but they sound nasty, and they do boot pretty hard..I'd take one over the z06 If I had the money...IF

Ok guys, sorry I arrived at the party late.
1) It's not like they're discontinuing the GT for sales or financial reasons. They were ALWAYS going to end the run now. This was planned before they introduced the car. That way, it retains it's exclusivity and frees up production to work on the next big thing. It has nothing to do with cutbacks. Ford doesn't even make the damn cars, Saleen does.
2) There were very few problems with the car, they recognized that a front suspension component could crack if subjected to rediculous stress over time. It's not like anyone actually broke one and ditched the car or anything. They replaced it with a billet piece that worked fine. It was a speed to market decision, they planned on having the recall the moment they put those powdered metal A-arms on the first run of cars.
3) This move frees them up to introduce the $90K GR1 or the $80K Shelby Cobra. That way, they can compete in the niche market. The Ford GT was outstanding, and now it will remain that way for years to come, as now it is exclusive.
4) And all cars leak past the main seals, it's just a matter of at what rate. I'm sure they weren't considering oil puddling with a dry sump system.
All in all, the GT was an amazing machine, and I can't wait to see what the decide to come out with next.
As for the nay-sayers, how many Enzo's did they build? Yeah, I thought so...
